Medication use in the elderly

There are a number of medications to be used with caution in the elderly. As your patient population ages, it is important to be congnizant of their decreasing mass and renal function and how such decrements may affect drug metabolism.

The New Mexico Prescription Improvement Coalition has created a website rating a number of medications to avoid or use with care when working with the elderly population.
